Training camp tip

Published by shanekullman under LSC Rides

So here’s a couple tips.
  1. Get you bike tuned up now.  Don’t wait until the Monday prior to camp to bring your bike in.  That shifter you forgot about over the winter, or that chain, brake pads, or maybe that painful saddle, could take a few day’s to get.  Go to the Bicycle Chain and get fixed up.
  2. Gears – ride what you like, but, we do a good chunk of climbing.  You will not regret having at least a 25 on your rear cluster.  Some will even have a 26 or 27.
  3. Wheels – spare wheels are appreciated.  However, if you run a unique set up (i.e. 9 speed, Campy, 23 rims) you should probably bring at least a spare rear if you have one.

One last thing, please don’t anticipate riding a fixie, single speed, mountain bike, or something less then your normal summer road bike.  We all love those kinds of rides but they simply can’t logistically be supported.

Thanks Loons

Wednesday Stone Arch Ride

Published by mikedelaney under LSC Rides

The Stone Arch hill climb will officially kick off tomorrow April 22. The route leaves from the down town Minneapolis side of the Stone Arch. The group usually congregates below in the car parking lot. We ride through St Paul doing many of the hills available.

In the past the ride has started at 5:30. How much of a hardship would it cause if the ride started at 5PM? By starting earlier we should be able to get in a few extra miles/climbs.

I would like to start tomorrows ride at 5PM. (Unless I hear this is not going to work for the majority of guys then we’ll start at 5:30PM.)
